Calling all burger lovers out there! This one might get you off the hook. At first, who would’ve thought that this restaurant serves burgers and beers since it has the word ‘Garage’ attached to it? Because I actually thought it was a repair shop for cars and other vehicles haha. So out of curiosity and to satisfy my crave for burgers, I excitingly joined my friends on a ‘foodventure’ at Bonifacio Global City. The moment my friends told me about Garage 88, I couldn’t help but agree to their invitation. (because of the hearsay on the size of the burger)
But what makes Garage 88 your ultimate burger stop? Well this restaurant isn’t your ordinary food chain. They don’t just serve one regular burger, but a super duper mega over to the mall of asia big burger! (sarcastic lang), which could already feed a family of 10! Larger than the size of our faces. Sounds big right? We’re only talking about none other than a 12-inch burger! Yep, 12 inches or isang ruler lang naman ang lapad niya. Ohaaaaa. And the best part offered by this restaurant is when you were able to finish up the whole size or number of burgers ALL BY YOURSELF, again take note, by yourself, in just an hour or less, YOU GET TO HAVE IT FOR FREE. Superb. I guess you need to skip breakfast and just take your lunch there to have it for free (if you can eat it all up).

The 12-inch burger comes with different flavors for just ₱988.00. You can order other viands or short meals if you don’t feel like eating burgers, such as sandwiches, fish ‘n chips, steaks, etc.
And if it’s your birthday, you can consider coming to this place because they serve free nachos to the celebrant, with spicy chicken or spring rolls on the side, provided that you give them a valid reference of your birthdate. It’s a good deal though. (free na yan ‘te go grab the free nachos! Masarap naman, Haha!)
You can text your ‘barkada’ if you plan on having a late-night drink! This could be the place since they have a wide array of drink choices (from water, shakes, juices, sodas, and beers up to hard drinks).
But if you have asthma or you don’t like inhaling cigarette smoke (just like me) because it’s really bad for the health, you may ask the restaurant crew to help you transfer to a different seat, because Garage 88 gives their permission to smokers to use cigarettes inside. Since it’s a ‘burgers and beers bar’, there would undeniably be customers who will happen to smoke inside the area. But this is only for those who don’t like a smoke-friendly environment. If you can withstand that kind of set up, then there’s no problem with not transferring seats. 🙂
Like I said, I was invited to eat at Garage 88 to have a post-celebration of my best friend’s birthday (visit her blog too: yanie.net). And to evaluate my experience there, I’d give the restaurant a rating of 8/10 👍🏻 because the food was delicious and it satisfied my craving (which is the most important), there’s quick service, WiFi (uyy pupunta na yan may wifi eh hahaha), and they have a friendly restaurant crew 🙂 but one thing that turned me down was the cigarette thingy since I usually have a hard time breathing when I inhale cigarette smoke (this goes for some too right?), but everything was good nonetheless.

If you plan on going to Garage 88, here’s a guide on how to get there:
FARE:
₱20 – if you’re in Ayala, Makati City, ride a jeepney going to MRT-Ayala (go to jeepney stops with the ‘loading’ signs on sheds since they’re very strict with road and traffic rules). This costs ₱6 (student) or ₱8 (ordinary passenger) and get off at the last drop-off point. There you will find a bus terminal going to Bonifacio Global city which will cost you ₱10 (student) and ₱12 (ordinary passenger). When you’re already in BGC, get off at the first drop-off point and walk to Korean Cultural Center, which you’ll see right after you have entered BGC premises.
₱25-30 – if you’re in Pasig City, take an ‘fx’ going to Bonifacio Global city (₱25-30) then you could get off at St. Luke’s medical hospital and walk straight to Garage 88. (Right side of Korean Cultural center, facing the road)
The same step goes when you’re in manila, just inlcude the additional fare that will cost you going to ayala, makati. If you live in Taguig city, just take a jeepney going to ‘Pasig Simbahan or Palengke’ then get off at San Joaquin area. Walk to Chowking and there you’ll find an ‘fx’ terminal going to BGC (₱25-30). Tell the driver you’ll get off at St. Luke’s, then from there you just have to walk straight to get to Garage 88. Simple as that. 🙂
